Copyright Policy
Effective Date: June 15, 2026
1. Notice of Non-Affiliation and Safe Harbor
ReWatch operates exclusively as a search engine, directory, and indexing service. We categorically state that we do not host, store, stream, transmit, or upload any of the multimedia files, videos, or copyrighted content accessible through the Platform. All content is hosted by completely independent third-party servers and domains over which ReWatch has no administrative or technical control. ReWatch does not control the underlying files hosted by third-party services.
By functioning as an intermediary (a directory/search engine), ReWatch seeks to operate in compliance with the safe harbor provisions of Section 79 of the Information Technology Act, 2000 (India), as well as equivalent international copyright frameworks and the EU e-Commerce Directive (Directive 2000/31/EC).
2. Copyright Takedown Procedure
ReWatch respects the intellectual property rights of creators and rights holders. It is our strict policy to respond expeditiously to valid notices of alleged copyright infringement. If you are a copyright owner, or an authorized agent acting on behalf of one, and you possess a good faith belief that content indexed on our Platform infringes your copyright, you may submit a formal takedown notification to our Grievance Officer / Copyright Agent.
To be valid under the Copyright Act, 1957 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, your notification must be provided in writing and strictly include the following elements:
- A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
- Specific identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or, if multiple copyrighted works at a single online site are covered by a single notification, a representative list of such works.
- Specific identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity, and information reasonably sufficient to permit ReWatch to locate the material. You must provide the exact URLs on the ReWatch platform where the indexed links are located.
- Information reasonably sufficient to permit ReWatch to contact the complaining party, including a full legal name, physical address, telephone number, and a valid email address.
- A statement that the complaining party has a good faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that the complaining party is authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
3. Crucial Limitation on Takedown Efficacy
WARNING: Because ReWatch does not host the files in question, submitting a takedown notice to us will ONLY result in the removal of the URL listing/index from our search database. The underlying infringing file will remain fully active and accessible on the internet via the third-party hosting service. To achieve a comprehensive removal of the infringing material from the internet, you MUST identify the third-party hosting service providing the actual video file and submit a separate takedown notice directly to their abuse department or designated agent.
4. Counter-Notification Procedure
If you believe that a link to material was removed or access to it was disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter-notification with our Grievance Officer. The counter-notice must contain your physical or electronic signature, identification of the removed material and its previous location, a statement under penalty of perjury that the removal was a mistake or misidentification, your contact information, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Courts of Ernakulam, Kerala, India.
5. Repeat Infringer Policy
In accordance with applicable Indian laws and international copyright frameworks, ReWatch has adopted a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances and at ReWatch's sole discretion, the accounts of users who are deemed to be repeat infringers of intellectual property rights.
6. Submission of Notices & Grievance Officer
In compliance with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, please submit all formal copyright notifications and grievances to our Grievance Officer exclusively via email:
- Grievance Officer
- ReWatch Legal Department
- Email: copyright@rewatch.space
- Response Timeline: We aim to acknowledge your complaint in a commercially reasonable timeframe and resolve it within 15 days as required by law.
Please note that any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material or activity is infringing may be subject to severe civil and criminal liability and damages under Indian law. Nothing in this Copyright Policy constitutes legal advice.
